2K a year Job Posting Information - Shim Grind Operator A Shim Grind Operator operates shim grind machines.
Essential Role and
Responsibilities:
Examines and feels surface of work piece for defects.
Performs set-up procedures on the grinder machines; selects grade of grinding stone according to specifications, knowledge of abrasives, and condition of metal.
Loads grinding fixtures with appropriate parts and starts grinder.
Performs necessary load checks as required.
Dresses grinding stone as required for flatness and sharpness.
Replaces worn grinding stones as needed.
Adjusts grinders and performs preventative maintenance as required.
Use and confirm proper operation of all safety devices and procedures.
Properly complete work orders and department-related paperwork.
Responsible for general housekeeping duties and striving toward continuous improvement.
All other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
Statistical Process Control (SPC) Training and ability to read blueprints
